It is designed to cut all electrical connection between the speed control ESC and the receiver whilst still maintaining a strong connection. This removes any interference caused by the connection between the speed control and receiver and has been known to improve the strength of the connection.
To operate the Z.G.M. the models receiver must have it's own power supply, as the Z.G.M. will not pass the BEC power from the speed controller to the receiver. Also, the Electronic Speed Control must have it's BEC switched on and pluged into the ZGM. The ZGM does require a power input from the ESC.
